Angie & Family: maternity

My very first photo shoot with an actual client was a maternity session.
My friend Alexis, who wasn’t even my friend, yet, asked me to take pictures of her pregnant belly as soon as she found out she was pregnant with her 4th child, her daughter Eden. When I look back on that day it was borderline disastrous: my batteries died, I was SUPER self conscious and awkward. It was terrible. But every time I walk in to Alexis’ living room I see a framed photo from that day on her wall.
Maternity sessions have a very special place in my heart.
Angie’s sister, Christy, texted me a few weeks ago asking if we could all get together to talk about scheduling a maternity shoot and I couldn’t have been more excited! Even looking at the pictures now that the session has ended they still make me excited! This *has* to be one of my favorite shoots to date. The lighting was GORGEOUS, the family was stunning, it was quite near perfection!

It had rained a few days before our shoot and I didn't think it would have made a big deal. I was wrong. As we were walking back into the park my shoes got completely trashed. My foot was submerged in mud at one point. good times!
