Hoarders, Forever, & Maple Leaves: personal

I can't stand the show Hoarders. But, everyone in my family watches it so oftentimes I'm forced to watch as well. After being subjected to watch an episode the other night [I say it like I couldn't have left the room, that's dramatic. hahah] I was talking to a friend about how I could never be a hoarder. I throw everything away.

Then I stopped and thought for a second.

That's not true. I throw everything away, EXCEPT some random reciept from when I went out to dinner 4 years ago and someone drew a smilely face and a heart in the corner for me and told me to keep it forever. I take "keep this forever" statements extremely seriously.

Yesterday, two friends I've never had the pleasure of meeting in person flew to Los Angeles all the way from Ontario, Canada. After work I sat on the stairs in my friends living room talking and laughing with these amazing ladies like I'd known them for years, when in reality our only interaction before yesterday evening had been via Facebook.

An hour or so in to our conversation Jennie got up and said "Oh! We brought something for you!" Now, gifts kinda freak me out so my first response was "What!? Why!?" until she returned holding pressed maple leaves. But, not just any maple leaves, CANADIAN maple leaves. Legit! My leaves sat next to me on the stairs the rest of the night. They make me so happy!

When I was getting ready to head home and I started saying my goodbyes I told Jennie that I would be keeping these leaves forever, and I take keep these forever statements very seriously.

Happy Friday!
