Vilma & Gabe: weddings

A little over a year ago I flew from SoCal to Indianapolis, IN with a group of girlfriends to go to my childhood friends wedding in Illinois. I was beyond excited for the trip an entire week doing fun things in a place I had never been, with some amazing friends! What could be better?! Basically nothing. But then wedding day came and I remembered I was the photographer. I believe I snapped at a dear friend at the rehearsal dinner because I was so nervous, was sick all morning of the wedding, and probably didn't speak more that 10 words all day. Plus my cell phone was taken ransom so texting, my one comfort, was not an option. [not that I had time to text! haha] After the reception I fell into the car fully exhausted not knowing if I ever wanted to shoot another wedding again. I was so nervous and so stressed all day. Wedding pictures are important!

Last weekend I shot my second wedding. Words cannot express how much I have changed in a year. As I gathered all of my equipment the night before [and had a slight mental breakdown about what I was going to wear haha!] the normal butterflies were present, but instead of the normal dread there was a hint of excitement. And as my alarm went off at 5:30 so I would have plenty of time to prepare before the big day I didn't want to sink into the floor, disappear, or fast forward to Sunday night--nice and far away from the end of the reception. :] I was prepared and excited for the day! The two wedding days ended the same though, I fell into my car fully exhausted last Saturday night [and slightly delusional.. I'll admit it I listened to "Poker Face" on repeat the whole way home haha!]. But instead of doubting if I ever wanted to hold a camera again I decided as tired as I was I would do it all over again the next day. Because photography is what I love, what I'm deeply passionate about, and what I want to do forever. <3 No joke.

Here's the start of Vilma & Gabe's wedding day. I've never blogged a wedding before so, forgive me, but it's going to have to be split into two posts. ;] I just can't help it! haha. To Vilma & Gabe, thank you so much for allowing me to share your day with you. I had so much fun being with you, and laughing with you. It is truly a day I will never forget.

We spent the morning at the salon watching all the girls get ready, so fun!
